Hi, I’m John. Seshr started from our own search for meaningful friendships through shared experiences.
Stephen and I have been good friends since we were 12, but life eventually pulled us in different directions. He left for another country for A levels, university and eventual career. We’d catch up during school breaks and university holidays, but those moments were rare.
At university, I found myself with a few close friends, and with everyone on different schedules, plans often fell through. The result? Too many quiet evenings with nothing to do and no one around.
So, when I had nothing going on, I’d head out on my own to explore new places, meet new people, and try something fun. Whether it was a round of pool at a bar, a board game café, or just discovering a cool local hangout. Who knows? A chat with a stranger might lead to a new friendship—or at the very least, a more interesting night than doomscrolling at home.
And it worked. I met so many interesting people and built friendships that have lasted. More than that, I was doing fun sh*t by putting myself out there.
The idea for Seshr was born. If finding new friends could be this rewarding for me, why not make it easier for everyone else? And who better to build it with than my old pal Stephen?
Seshr brought us back together. We hope it helps you find your people too.
